Understanding the evaluation process
How does UC Compass conduct evaluations?
UC Compass performs a rigorous evaluation process that involves four steps:
- UC Compass receives a data file that contains a complete academic history of each 9th-12th grader at all participating schools.
- All courses taken are verified against the list of A-G approved courses for each school.
- Courses that do not match to an approved list, out-of-state, out-of-country and dual enrollment courses are assigned to an UC evaluator for A-G assessment.
- The revised data file is then submitted for final evaluation and report generation.
How does UC Compass ensure the accuracy of its reports?
UC Compass employs a cadre of expert evaluators who review all courses in the data file to ensure that students are given proper A-G credit. All reports are also reviewed by UC Compass staff before being released to partner districts.
